The IMF Managing Director praised Thailand on October 18 for hosting the annual meetings with "extremely high standards," with the UAE taking over for 2029.

At the closing ceremony, the IMF MD praised Thailand's 2026 hosting as setting an "extremely high standard" with excellent organization and security.

This was Thailand's first time hosting the IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings, showcasing organizational capacity and international image.

Nearly 20,000 delegates attended, with multiple global financial initiatives released. Thailand's GDP forecast was revised upward.

The next meeting in 2029 will be hosted by the UAE. Thailand officially handed over.
